Memoir, the 40th venture by Flagship Restaurant Group, sings as a harmonious narrative blending style, warmth, and meticulous design. The restaurant's tagline, "Welcome to our home," encapsulates its branding, inviting patrons into a culinary haven that resonates with a sense of familiarity. Every element tells a story, reinforcing the concept – from trim to tile. With 142 interior and 76 patio seats one challenge was to make each guest feel they are having their own personal dining experience within the larger environment. Using layers of details, materials, and textures prevents the open concept from feeling cavernous. Trim moulding breaks down walls, various patterns reduce monotony, and deep colors create calm, elevating the feeling of intimacy. Custom coffered ceilings reduce the overall height of the dining room and hide mechanical systems without feeling too low. Faux mullions were added to the soaring commercial windows to break down their scale and make them feel more residential. New textile awnings lend shade to the exterior, enhancing the patio's livability and contributing to the overall design aesthetics. Above eye level obstructions are intentionally eliminated to allow unencumbered views of the kitchen from every seat. The kitchen is the heart of every home, after all. Nothing is stored above counter height at the bar to keep this 360-degree view possible. Removeable bar panels ensure easy access to systems behind the scenes, underscoring the commitment to functionality and accessibility. Bar stool backs mimic open books, adding a touch of whimsy. Cleverly designed and built banquets provide both a seat for diners to sink into, reminiscent of a cozy home nook, and wine glass storage for servers – once again making the most of the space. The party room, featuring inset tile floors, matching coffers, internal windows for borrowed light, and custom-designed wallcovering, reflects the meticulous attention to detail. Even bathrooms are transformed into powder-room-like sanctuaries with playful tile, brass fixtures, and full height divider walls as that extra nod to privacy and comfort. The entire space is a testament to efficiency and ingenuity. Memoir, beyond being a dining destination, emerges as a carefully curated sanctuary, weaving a rich tapestry of culinary experiences and cherished memories for its patrons.
